Sultan Ismail Bridge
Before the construction of the Sultan Ismail Bridge in Muar, Johor, locals would have to either cross the river with a boat or travel another, longer route on land. The bridge connects Bandar Maharani which is in Muar to Tanjung Agas which is located in Ledang. With the construction of this bridge in 1967, many villagers found their daily commute much easier.
Muar Clock Tower
Muar clock tower is one of the famous attractions in Muar. It is considered as a local landmark in Muar. It is situated in the garden at the new park called Padang Nyiru, which is very near the Muar Bus Terminal. The old English architecture is what makes the clock distinctive and unique, it is painted in white and yellow and is very distinctive from afar. The stairs in the tower are all padlocked for safety measure.

Muar Mural
Muar. It graces a wall beside Veej Uniforms Concept Store at Jalan Arab, near Bulatan Jalan Bakri. The mural was painted by 28-year-old Russian mural artist Julia Volchkova. Sponsored by Aking Advertising & Signcraft Sdn Bhd, a local advertising agency, the mural measures close to 12 meters tall by 10 meters wide, and was completed in ten days, on 17 Johor.

It is a Chinese restaurant which is quite popular in Muar (Johor) and they serve a lot of Thai style dishes. The restaurant owner learnt how to cook Thai food from an actual Thai cook in Thailand and he brought it back to Muar.
Tanjung Emas Muar
Tanjung Emas (also known as the ‘Golden Cape’) is located next to the Muar River. It is a famous location for viewing sunset, so popular that they call it the “Sunset of Muar”. There is a jetty at Tanjung Emas for visitors who would like a boat trip on the Muar River. Enjoy the scenery at Tanjung Emas where rows of big shady trees are planted by the riverside, accompanied by majestic heritage buildings to appreciate the past glory of Muar town.


Jit Fat Hainan Chicken Rice
Don’t think Melaka is the only place that originated chicken rice balls, here in Muar, they too sell authentic chicken rice balls. Jit Fat is established in 1957 and in 1979, they have moved to this current shop. It is famously known around Muar and is a shop that has been in the childhood memory of many. The current owner, Mr. Wang, is the 2nd owner. He had been learning and gaining experience by observing his father since young. Customers would be able to see true professionalism through his excellent skills from chopping chickens to pouring the sauce.
