Redang Island is one of the largest islands of the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is famous for its crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. It is one of nine islands, which form a marine sanctuary park offering snorkeling and diving opportunities to the public.

Features
Redang Island is part of the Redang Marine Park hence there is Pulau Redanga RM5 marine park fee imposed on every visitor coming to the island.
Remember that travelling to Pulau Redang that is limited by the monsoon season which means that the island pretty much shuts down from November to February. Peak seaon is from June to August.

Marine Park
Reaching to the Marine Park Centre is easy from the Redang Island. All islands in the small archipelago offer cheap fares by boat. In fact, almost every resort package includes specific excursions and one of them takes tourists to the facility. In this case, the ticket fee is included in the package, yet it is still worth having some cash of you. Ticket costs for children are two times lower than for adults.

Turtles Watching
Two species of turtles visit Redang to nest. The most common is the Green turtle followed by the Hawksbill turtle. The nesting period for Green turtles is between March to December with a peak in August. Hawksbill turtles usually nest between January to September with a peak in May. Favourite nesting spots in Redang include Pasir Chagar Hutang, Pasir Mak Simpan, Pasir Mak Kepit, Pasir Bujang and Teluk Dalam.

Night Party
On Redang Island the nightlife scene centres around the many beach resorts with their own bars and evening entertainment features live bands and DJ's pumping out their stuff to the requests of their patrons.
The beach front is the main hive of night time activity where the relaxed scene revolves around having a few drinks and singing some karaoke but there are no pulsating night clubs like can be seen in KL or Penang.

Snorkeling
Whether you are a first timer or a non-swimmer, you will fall in love with snorkeling. Just put on a lifejacket and jump into the crystal clear water to experience the marine life up close. Not to be missed is a trip to the Marine Park, where you can see hundreds of fishes swimming around you.
