Features

Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. Its modern skyline is dominated by the 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers, a pair of glass-and-steel-clad skyscrapers with Islamic motifs. The towers also offer a public skybridge and observation deck. The city is also home to British colonial-era landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building.

Batu Caves

Batu Caves  islimestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in GombakSelangorMalaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu (Stone River), which flows past the hill. It is the tenth limestone hill from Ampang. Batu Caves is also the name of a nearby village.

The cave is one of the most popular Tamil shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan . It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.

Batu Caves in short also referred as 10th Caves or Hill for Lord Muruga as there are six important holy shrines in India and four more in Malaysia.

Independence Square

Independence Square is located on the waterfront in the heart of the capital city of Bridgetown and is a lovely spot to relax and take in the sights and sounds.

Take a seat on the benches lining the waterfront to enjoy a view of historic Bridgetown including the Parliament Buildings and National Heroes Square.

Several vendors offer local crafts and light refreshments on the bridge at the western end of Independence Square so be sure to stop by to take a look and maybe purchase a gift or two!

Chinatown

At the heart of Kuala Lumpur is an area which never sleeps, and far more colourful and bustling than its bigger and more glamourous neighbours, KLCC & Bukit Bintang. Chinatown, based in Petaling Street, is also known as 'Chee Cheong Kai' (Starch Factory Street), a reference to its roots as a tapioca-producing district. Deeply immersed in Oriental culture, heritage and history, Chinatown is undoubtedly one of the most popular tourist spots in Malaysia.

Chinatown is also a well-known bargain hunter’s paradise, a place where you can find all sorts of stuff from Chinese herbs to imitation goods.

Old Railway Station

One of KL's most distinctive colonial buildings, this grand 1910 train station (replaced as a transit hub by KL Sentral in 2001) was designed by British architect AB Hubback in the Mogul (or Indo-Saracenic) style. The building's white plaster facade is crumbling, but you can still admire its rows of keyhole and horseshoe arches, providing ventilation on each level, and the large chatri (elevated pavilions) and onion domes adorning the roof.

Petronas Twin Tower

Petronas Twin Towers were once the tallest buildings in the world. Now the world’s tallest twin structures, the 88-storey buildings were designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates with both towers joined at the 41st and 42nd floors (175m above street level) by a 58 metre-long, double-decker Sky Bridge.

Standing 452 metres tall, the Petronas Twin Towers retained its world-title claim to fame until 2004 when Taipei's 101 was built, measuring 508 metres tall. Today, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (opened in 2010) retains the spot as the world’s tallest building. Located in the KL city centre, the Petronas Twin Towers’ architecture is Islamic-inspired and the buildings primarily house the corporate headquarters of the Petronas Company and other offices.

King’s Palace

Istana Negara is Malaysia’s National Palace. Built in 1928, it is located along Jalan Istana and the 13-acre castle used to be the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia. In June 2011, it was replaced by a new, extravagant RM800 million palace near Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur.

The old Istana Negara is situated on a slope in Bukit Petaling overlooking the Klang River, along Jalan Syed Putra. Its grounds are not open to the public, so the Main Palace Entrance is usually the spot where tourists take pictures. Also called The Big House, it was originally a double-storey mansion owned by local Chinese millionaire Chan Wing.

Local Batik and Handicraft Centre

Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex, the city’s iconic art centre offers local and international visitors a variety of tourism craft products. Located within the “Golden Triangle”, the complex features a Malay Terengganu architecture showcasing a collection of traditional as well as modern contemporary handicrafts products from across the country.

The Craft Complex which spans 7.3 acres, featuring a panoramic Malaysian countryside landscape, distinguishes the Craft Complex from other prestige shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur.

Muzium Negara

The National Museum (Malay: Muzium Negara) is a museum located on Jalan Damansara in Kuala LumpurMalaysia. The museum is situated in close proximity to the Perdana Lake Gardens and it provides an overview of Malaysian history and culture. The National Museum is a palatial structure built in the style of Rumah Gadang, an aspect of Minangkabau architecture. Its facade comprises elements of traditional Malay and modern features. It was opened on 31 August 1963, and it serves as a repository of Malaysia's rich cultural and historical heritage.
